I just saw your podcast recommended on the ABA Community site, and it looks great. Do you plan to make it available on standard podcatchers such as Apple Podcasts and Overcast, or will we always have to come to you substack? I looked for it under "Ten Birding Questions," "10 Birding Questions," and "Birding with Billbow" all without luck.
Hi! Thanks so much first of all. Appreciate the kind words.
Yes! After I publish this week’s newsletter, I’m going to put the podcast on various sites. It’s already available on Spotify, but I plan to use numerous sites, including Apple and YouTube.
What a fantastic inaugural episode! Frank was such a great guest, casually dropping bird knowledge and sharing engaging stories. The Spot-breasted Oriole is such a great spark bird; I had to go admire some photos after hearing that. And I really am going to read his thesis now! Overall, it was just a great dialogue. I’m so excited for the next episode!
Also, that part of Harrison Hills is absolutely one of those glowing green forests Frank was talking about. Your photo of the Kentucky Warbler turned out so well—it captures the vibe perfectly. I think he looks like a little sprite, lol.
It feels like the ultimate spark bird. I think I'm actually jealous of it.
That glowing green forest comment really came to mind while we were at the pulloff yesterday. There's a real mystical quality to western PA's nature, especially at this time of year.
Finally had enough time to listen to it! That was really well done. Very recognizable too. Have to disagree about his statement of mammals in South Florida though :P He must not have gone to the right places! :D Also, now I am even more determined to find birding friends!
Oh thank you so much for listening, Aria!! So glad you enjoyed it. Yeah. Maybe it’s just that it’s disappointing to come back from Yellowstone to Miami and not see a herd of elk lol
FANTASTIC BROTHER! That was great! Here's to doing scary things. I'm inspired. Maybe I'll paint a mural, perhaps a mural of birds! That would certainly be quite the challenge.
Bravo, Nate, you did it! I really enjoyed this first episode of the podcast. I liked the music, the guest, the questions, everything fit together so nicely! Good job, can't wait to listen to more episodes.
Thank you Maja!! I’ve been a nervous wreck, and it’s so good to hear that positive feedback. I had such a great time talking with Frank. Such a vast knowledge of birds, but so kind, funny, and approachable.
Great listen and I enjoyed the podcast format and interview with Frank Izaguirre. That's a great point Frank makes about a very real feeling/sense we have when we find a lifer bird. So true and hard to explain. Great choice of intro/outro music as well - thank you for sharing.
sitting on the back deck with my friend bilbo LISTENING to him chatting about birds omg i love it!!
Ahhhhh I 🫶 U Josie!!!

Fantastic! I will definitely subscribe as soon as you publish (I'm an Overcast user). Thank you for the quick response
I was unaware of Overcast but I’ll definitely look into that platform! Thanks :)

Thanks for listening. You are the BEST!
Right?? Dark-eyed Junco feels so lame now.
You're so right! It's really any forest with a stream around here, haha. I need to appreciate it more!
Junco is an awesome spark bird!!!

Yeah we don’t have herds of elk 😂 we have herds of raccoons instead lol
Just as good!
I love them so much. Every night the outdoor camera catches a train of little baby raccoons walking by or playing in the water bowl.
That was a great first episode Nate! I can't wait for more future episodes to come!
Thank you Caleb! That means so much for you to say
My kids said birding definitely isn’t nerdy…. but I am.
Not sure I agree with the first part. Fully agree with the second part lol
FANTASTIC BROTHER! That was great! Here's to doing scary things. I'm inspired. Maybe I'll paint a mural, perhaps a mural of birds! That would certainly be quite the challenge.
Yesss thank you sister! Your crows and ravens deserve a mural of their own!

What a great idea! Love the podcast. And btw, my husband has that t-shirt too!
Thank you for listening, Lisa!! It’s a great shirt. Your husband has good taste :D

Thank you so much for listening Neil! I also love how he describes that new-bird feeling. He’s right—it feels good and it’s addictive!
Love the music, love the interview and the stories Frank shares, love your voice as you introduce the podcast. Love it all. Bravo!
And I love you. Could never have done it without you!
I'm thrilled to be your associate producer for this venture! And many others!
Oh my oh my what a fabulous endeavor. Sweet. 🍦💛
Hope u like it Nettie!!
If I can convert just one person in the name of the Bord, it will have been worth it.
